BatelcoBatelco
, Bahrain's leading telecommunications company is once again reaching out to help young Bahrainis to attain their career goals by offering scholarships to four unemployed girls. The girls, who have all been nominated by the Ministry of Labour, will attend a six month CCNA (CiscoCisco
Certified Network Associate) course at BatelcoBatelco
Training Centre, Hamala. An introductory CCNA session was held recently to provide the girls with an overview of the course. "We are offering these scholarships as part of our ongoing commitment to the youth of Bahrain to further their education and provide them with the best opportunities to succeed in their careers," said BatelcoBatelco
Human Resources and Government Relations General Manager Shaikh Ahmed Al Khalifa.
"We have committed BD1.5 million to the King Hamad Schools of the future project which aims at reforming the educational system by employing ICT technology across the Kingdom and we annually support the Crown Prince's Scholarship Fund to pay for third level education in some of the world's best universities, for the Kingdom's top students."
In March this year, BatelcoBatelco
, CiscoCisco
and BTI (Bahrain Training Institute) signed an agreement to establish a CiscoCisco
Networking Academy at BatelcoBatelco
Training Centre in Hamala. The Academy will boost the networking skills of a large number of trainees each year and provide fully qualified local talent with CCNA qualifications, to support the telecom and networking industry in Bahrain.
"Investment in education is of prime importance and will empower future generations with the skills necessary to transform the Kingdom into a knowledge-based economy," added Shaikh Ahmed.
