Half a Million Dirhams Raised By Al Mawakeb Students to Aid Lebanon

Dubai, UAE - Two thousand people gathered at the Sheikh Rashid Hall at Dubai World Trade Centre recently to watch Al Mawakeb students display their dramatic talents in the Rahbani brothers play Jbal Al Sawan. The play involved over 40 students with a further 30 pupils and teachers participating in different areas of production, from acting to lighting to costume design.
Over AED500,000 was raised during the event and a cheque was presented to H.E. Ibrahim bu Malha, Deputy Board Chairman of the Mohammad bin Rashid Charity Foundation. The funds will be used to aid the Trillion for Lebanon Campaign, which aims to raise one trillion Lebanese pounds (Dh2.54 billion) to help rebuild Lebanon.
