Beautification projects planned, says councillor The sea and the coastline in the northern governorate is being put to good use, claimed Mubarak Faraj Saad Al Dosari the municipal councillor representing Al Jasra and Budaiya.
Talking to Bahrain Tribune, he unveiled plans to enhance the quality of life and the beauty of his constituency.
"I can give you the major projects that have been undertaken by me and now are in various stages of development," he said. "A new marina and garden to be built at Al Jasra is among the major projects I have undertaken. The estimated cost of this project is BD230,000 of which the Royal court has agreed to donate BD200,00. The remaining BD30,000 will come from the Municipality," Al Dosari added.
The new marina can moor about 25 to 30 boats. In close proximity to the new marina will be a garden with all facilities for families to enjoy an outing. The construction, though is yet to be tendered.
"In Budaiya, I have plans for a beach, garden and walking track. This project is expected to cost an estimated BD500,000, of which the Royal Court is providing BD200,000 and the remaining BD300,000 will be funded by the ministry," he added.
He said that a new marina had been built at Budaiya at a cost of BD100,000. This marina would be able to moor about eight to 10 large fishing boats. In addition, a new road, which he planned to name Shaikh Faisal bin Hamad Road is also being planned. The road, the longest in Budaiya is a semi-circle and leads to the sea. Al Dosari said that Road 53 is connected from the north and south.
The last rains have played havoc and led to considerable damages in Bahrain. According to Al Dosari, 36 houses were spotted in Budaiya and another approximately 36 in Al Jasra. He said that when the Prime Minister, Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, visited the area he was apprised of the need for renovation and it has been sanctioned. A total of over 70 houses is now under renovation, with the grading and other infrastructural work in progress.
Another six buildings are also being built that will house 96 flats. In addition to these apartments, about 78 houses are also being built. He is also involved in the building of the North Town, a project initiated by HM the King, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The first phase comprises 15,000 houses.
