Amman, August 9th, 2006: PROGAS, Jordan's first provider of liquid petroleum gas (LPG) and comprehensive centralized gas solutions, inaugurated the first central Liquid Petroleum gas installation of its kind in the Kingdom for the National Printing Press's new facility, the most advanced printing establishment in Jordan.

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources committee for licensing industrial and non-industrial gas installations inspected the operation and insured that the installation, system, and the delivery equipment complied with the approved standards and technical specifications of the international gas sector.

The installation at National Press included two 2000 Gallon tanks with a storage cpacity of just over 6.5 tons of liquid petroleum gas (LPG). The new PROGAS technology is expected to save 15-25% of the printing press's current gas consumption, reducing its expenditures substantially.

Saba Salti, PROGAS' General Manager said, "We are the first company in Jordan to have successfully installed, filled, and operated a central liquid gas distributing tank. We have been working hard for the past year in close cooperation with the relevant Jordnanian authorities in order to bring this technology to the Jordanian Public and insure we do so in a safe and highly reliable manner through the use of top quality equipment and a well trained technical support staff. PROGAS' team is fully equipped to provide comprehensive services that are in accordance with international regulations and specifications. Our main aim is to provide our customers with peace of mind and the best performance."

Engineer Salti emphasized PROGAS' immense regard for safety assurance and explained that, "PROGAS ensures safety to the customers by implementing a policy of prevention, which relies on the use of high quality specifications and strict adherence to codes well applied and adopted in the gas sector. All of PROGAS' installations are in accordance with the specifications of the US's National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). We also use small road tanker trucks known as Bobtails for transporting and supplying gas that are equipped with the most advanced safety systems that are compliant with U.S. and international specifications."

Engineer Salti added, "What distinguishes PROGAS from other LP gas service providers is that it provides comprehensive services that fulfill all gas needs. PROGAS' operations are also in accordance with the highest safety and service standards and are coupled with a qualified crew. We use transportation trucks that are equipped with the latest international safety features, and we use underground tanks for gas storage as they provide added safety and protection from unforeseen dangers in their immediate surroundings."

Mr. Omar Al Samman, Deputy Manager of the National Printing Press, explained the reason behind installing PROGAS' central gas technology at their company by saying, "we have recently invested in JD4-million worth of new equipment that runs on gas and consumes approximately 7 tons of gas per week. Then we conducted a feasibility study on the benefits of using central gas technology and found out that it would be the more economic and convenient choice. We realized that we will be able to reduce our consumption cost and reduce losses due to unused gas that was wasted and returned in the cylinders that we use to use previously. The new system will also provide us with the technical and practical support that would eliminate the logistical expenses of gas cylinders as well as insurance."

Energy experts say that LPG is considered a safer and more cost-efficient substitute to other types of fuel, and is more environmentally friendly. The tanks are located underground and are located far from any source of ignition. The centralized gas technology also allows for efficient and regulated gas flow in accordance with the demand, minimizing the possibility of running out. Centralized gas technology also eliminates expenses incurred when replacing cylinders before they are empty.

PROGAS is the first Jordanian company that provides comprehensive solutions for centralized gas technology in Jordan. PROGAS has succeeded in acquiring a large and varied base of clients including residential complexes, shopping malls, restaurants and small industrial corporations, and shall be providing them with liquid petroleum gas soon. PROGAS also expects to expand on its client base in the near future as well as shall be roll out its operations across the entire kingdom.
