Dubai, 25th June 2006. CR2, a global provider of multi-channel banking and ITM (Intelligent Teller Machine) software solutions, has today announced that Al Salam Bank in Sudan has successfully gone live with CR2's BankWorld ATM solution.
Al Salam Bank, Sudan's newest and most innovative bank, licensed BankWorld Channel Manager, ATM Controller and Client towards the end of 2005. The solution was implemented in its ATMs in just under 3 months. The bank, founded by a consortium of UAE and Sudanese investors, launched in May 2005 and is currently expanding to a number of countries in the Middle East and Africa including Bahrain, Syria, Algeria and Morocco.
With two thirds of all transactions now taking place on the ATM, we have plans for a rapid expansion of the ATM network," said Hussein Mohammed Al Meeza, Chairman and Managing Director of Al Salam Bank. "We also intend to add a Mobile Top-up service to our ATMs and launch Point of Sale, Internet and SMS banking facilities for our customers. CR2 and the BankWorld solution are critical to that expansion."
The bank will be the first in Sudan to offer such a varied range of services and has gained an enviable reputation for providing unique services utilising this state of the art technology.
"The Sudanese is one of the fastest growing economies in the Middle East," said Kieran Kilcullen, Sales & Marketing Director, CR2. "Al Salam Bank is now very strategically placed to provide many value added services to its customers."
