Iran: Kerman Khodro to start assembling VW cars in 3 years |

KERMAN - A new production (assembly) line will come into operation in Kerman Khodro Factory in the next three years to manufacture new models of Volkswagen cars in Iran.
The project has totally cost $166.5m. The process will also include the manufacture of axles, gear boxes, chassis, engines and other parts for the cars. The production line's total capacity is said to be about 200,000 cars a year. As part of this project, some 5,000 Gol cars have been manufactured in the factory. The number is expected to reach 12,000 by the end of the current Iranian year (ends March 20, 2006).
