Kuwaiti official underscores good preparations for planned economic sum |

CAIRO, Nov 20 (KUNA) -- Good and well-though preparations will make the upcoming Arab economic and social development summit in Kuwait a success , Kuwaiti Finance Minister Mustafa Ali Al-Shimali said Thursday.
This statement to KUNA came after Shimlai headed the meeting for the preparatory committee of the summit to be held in Kuwait January 19-20, 2009.
Shimali affirmed that preparations for the summit by the Arab LeagueArab League
had been checked out, adding that the agenda of the summit would be set soon.
Shimali added that the second phase of preparations would be discussed during the exceptional event for the Arab economic and social ministerial council meeting December fourth.
Positive input and participation in the summit would help in benefiting all Arab nations, stated the Kuwaiti minister, adding that the event would be held under crucial circumstances amplified by the current global financial crisis which is going to have an impact on the region.
The committee's meeting was attended by Kuwait, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Qatar, and Tunisia. (pickup previous)
