KUWAIT, Aug 27 (KUNA) -- The Public Relations and Moral Guidance Directorate at the Kuwaiti army issued a press statement on Wednesday refuting a news story in a local newspaper alleging that military maneuvers will be conducted throughout the month of Ramadan as an emergency measure in the event of a war in the region.

The statement said that the alleged emergency plan by the army during the month of Ramadan -- to face the possibility of war in the region, requiring that most of the units of the army would be asked to remain in readiness to test their performance in wide-scale maneuvers at periods of fasting and breaking the fast of Ramadan -- was completely false and unfounded.
