BEIRUT, Aug 27 (KUNA) -- Lebanese President Michel Suleiman praised on Wednesday Kuwait's supportive stances and its continuous donations for Lebanon.

In a statement following his reception of the Director General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) Abdelwahab al Badr, the Lebanese President expressed gratitude for the Kuwaiti leadership's constant stances and efforts in support of Lebanon.

Badr briefed Suleiman with the fund's development projects in all Lebanese areas, underlining Kuwait's ongoing support to Lebanon.

Earlier in the day, Badr and the accompanying delegation met Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Beri.

Al Badr said the top lawmaker was briefed with a map explaining the nature and distribution of the projects that the fund would carry out in Lebanon, which cover all parts of Lebanon.

On Thursday, Badr would lay the foundation stone for the launch of execution of a project to complete the Baalbak-Riyaq road, he said.

Badr underlined the significance of the development projects managed by the fund as part of the Kuwaiti donation presented to Lebanon following the Israeli aggression of 2006, amount of which is USd 300 million.

Kuwaiti financed projects in Lebanon are expected to include the construction of sanitation ces, emergencystations, public halls, roads and other infrastructure projects.

Badr said the fund would make sure of its presence in Lebanon and efforts to meet Lebanon's vital projects.

Kuwait has also deposited USD 500 million in Lebanon's Bank to back up the Arab nation's economy.
