KUWAIT, Aug 18 (KUNA) -- Three Kuwaiti state departments reviewed their programs for evacuation drill in preparation for emergencies.
The drills, to take place on Tuesday at a shipping company, involve the Civil Defense Department (CDD), the Public Department for Firefighting (PDF) and the Medical Emergency Department (MED).
"The drills fall in the framework of Kuwait's efforts to ensure the safety of its citizens and civil servants in case of emergency," Director of CDD Training and Personnel Affairs Section Colonel Haidar Bu-Abbas said here on Monday.
"It is important to train civil servants on evacuation in the light of the growing number of fire and gas leakage incidents recently, Col. Bu-Abbas noted.
"The evacuation drills focus on civil servants in a bid to minimize the human and material losses in case of emergency," Chairman of PDF Education and Public Relations Section Lieut. Col. Khalil Al-Amir pointed out.
"The drills follow the lines of the latest world studies in this domain," Chairman of MED Education and Guidance Section Usama Al-Muzen said.
He urged all state departments to adopt similar programs to train their personnel on evacuation processes.
