Wataniya Airways announces leasing agreement for three aircrafts |

KUWAIT, Aug 27 (KUNA) -- Wataniya AirwaysWataniya Airways
, Kuwait's new premium airline, announced on Wednesday a new leasing agreement for three new A-320 aircraft that will come into service in 2010.
The new planes would double the size of the Wataniya AirwaysWataniya Airways
fleet to six, with the first commercial flights scheduled to commence early in 2009.
"This strengthening of the Wataniya AirwaysWataniya Airways
fleet is a clear commitment by the airline to increase the scope of our services and improve and enhance the number of flights we can offer to a growing number of regional destinations," Wataniya AirwaysWataniya Airways
Chairman and Managing Director Abdulsalam Al-Bahar told a press conference.
The additional three new planes would be delivered for service in 2010 and were being acquired on a nine-year leasing arrangement with AerCap Holdings N.

Chief Executive Officer said described the agreement as "an important step" of the planning process to steadily build the size of Wataniya fleet and enable it to expand its route network once the three new aircraft come into operation in 2010.
"Moreover, we are delighted to have entered into this long-term leasing deal with AerCap which is one of the industry's leading aircraft leasing companies," Cooper added.
Wataniya AirwaysWataniya Airways
would commence services from January 2009, offering a point-to-point service from Kuwait to destinations south and west of the Gulf and Middle East regions, providing flight schedules and destinations that focus on Kuwaiti needs.
