Municipality opens parks in Al Nahda and Al Quoz

Dubai Two new parks were opened in Dubai yesterday as part of Dubai MunicipalityDubai Municipality
's activities to mark the occasion of the 30th Plantation Week.
In addition to two opened on Sunday, two more pond parks in Al Nahda and Al Quoz were inaugurated by Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Chief of Dubai Police, and Mohammad Abdul Karim Julfar, Assistant Director General of Dubai MunicipalityDubai Municipality
for Corporate Support Services. The Plantation Week, which will last until March 11, will see the opening of eight public parks by Dubai MunicipalityDubai Municipality
.
Today, two other parks, Al Ghusais 3 Pond Park and New Garhoud Park will be inaugurated, while tomorrow Al Ghusais Residential Park and Al Wuheida School Park will open.
Ahmad Abdul Karim, Director of Public Parks and Horticulture Department, said Al Nahda Pond Park is one of the most important theme parks built in Dubai in recent times.
"The park is the first entertainment facility in the Al Nahda area, which is the newest urban residential area in the emirate of Dubai located near the border of Sharjah. It was built at a cost of Dh22 million at a total area of about 14.6 hectares," he said.
"The park is characterised with a large water area as the total area of the pond stretches to 80,000 square metres, which represents 54.4% of the total area of the park," he said.
