I participated as a speaker at the first conference for science and knowledge in Madinah. I congratulate SAGIA for planning and spearheading an exceptionally superb conference. The Prophet Mohammed pbh said to bless my city, it was indeed a blessing to participate in this first of its kind program. It seemed fitting that participants from all over the world should gather in Madinah. It is already a destination for Muslim hearts and minds from all over the world. Now it is going to be the center for knowledge as well.

At the conclusion of the three days of discussions I have the following observations:
As I presented a concept of Global Health Initiative a Global Health Center may be established with the following initial services at the Knowledge Economic City:

• Disease prevention, Immunization program for children, adults and travelers
• Chronic Disease Management (Prevention, diagnosis and management of Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Asthma, Asthma Kit for patients and doctors etc)
• Management of New and Emerging Diseases (Bird Flu, Dengue Fever, Infectious Diseases, Diarrhea and data lab in collaboration with a US facility etc)
• Wellness and Obesity Management (Exercise and Nutritional programs at schools and for general population
• Establish Quit Smoking Hotline (Website and Counseling)
• Establish Maternal and Child Health Hotline (Pregnancy related services)
• Develop “KSE First Step” a program for children with special needs (developmental disorders) and a directory of services for children from birth to three
• Develop a Center for International Collaboration in Health and Sciences
• Provide Teacher and Student Exchange Program
