Gulf Aircraft Maintenance Co has won a contract from leisure airline First Choice Airways to undertake heavy maintenance and modification of six Boeing 767-300 aircraft.
"I am glad to see our efficient and flexible aircraft maintenance capabilities meet and exceed First Choice's high expectations," said Saif Al Mugh-airy, General Manager of Gulf Aircraft Maintenance Co (Gamco), in a statement yesterday.
Gamco has already installed in-flight entertainment, enhanced cabin configuration and mood lightening systems in the first of the six aircraft.
British carrier First Choice Airways operates a fleet of 32 aircraft from 15 UK airports, flying 6 million passengers every year to around 60 destinations worldwide including the Indian Ocean, Mexico, the Caribbean, Florida and resorts across Europe and the Mediterranean.
"Having been personally involved with the maintenance and modification of this aircraft, I have good understanding of the effort and dedication required to embody a modification of this magnitude. Gamco has clearly demonstrated that they have the resources, capability and resolve required to meet both management and customer expectations as a leading organisation," said Mark German, First Choice maintenance manager.
"We contracted Gamco because it offers First Cho-ice what it needs, absolute reliability, short downtimes, a flexible approach and quality workmanship at a reasonable price."
