DUBAI, 22nd June, 2017 (WAM) -- Dubai Municipality has completed its preparations for Eid al-Fitr. The operation rooms of the municipality will continue to work during the holidays to meet the public influx at parks, resorts and markets.

The emirate's abattoirs have also completed preparations to meet the rush during the days leading up to the Eid. The working hours will be from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. in all Dubai abattoirs and a team of veterinarians are ready for emergencies.

All the markets will be open throughout Eid, except for Naif Souq, Souq Al Shaabi and the Falcon Centre, which will be closed for the first day of Eid, while the rest of the markets will be open to the public normally.

The Waste Management Department has completed preparations for cleaning the city before the start of the celebrations. The cleaning of all the Eid Musallahs has been completed to receive worshipers and the cleaning of all streets in the city and parks have also been completed in order to get them ready to receive visitors during Eid celebrations.

Municipality cleaners will be present in areas with the largest number of shopping centres in Bur Dubai, and the department has also intensified the number of cleaners on beaches, resorts and commercial areas, especially in market areas. The cleaning teams will work around the clock to keep the cleanliness and beauty of Dubai in front of everyone - citizens, residents or tourists.

The Children's City Administration has also prepared special programmes for children throughout Eid, which include Tarzan, Peter Pan and Math Alive shows. In addition, there will be a number of competitions and other activities characteristic of Childrens City. The programmes in the Childrens City will continue for three days starting from the second day of Eid. The Tarzan show will be held from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.

As for public parks, gates will be open to receive visitors from 8 a.m. until 12 midnight. It has been decided to exempt People of Determination and the elderly (over 60 years old) from any entrance fees.

Several events will be held at Creek Park, most notably the Dolphin shows, which will be held three times a day at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the Dolphinarium at Gate No. 1 of the park. A new adventure park has opened in Mushrif Park. Rowing boats are available at Mushrif Park and in Al Nahda and Al Barsha Pond Parks. In addition to that, three swimming pools have been opened for the public at Al Mamzar Park, Mushrif Park and Hatta Park.
