Suez Canal revenues up
Suez Canal revenues were up in October by 4.8 per cent compared to the same month last year. The Canal brought in some $447.8 million in October 2011, up 2.2 per cent from a month earlier. The canal's revenues in October 2010 were $427.3 million. Revenues in September 2011 were $438.3 million.The Suez Canal is one of Egypt's most important sources for hard currency, along with tourism, oil and gas exports and remittances from Egyptians living abroad.
