Amman declared Arab Capital of Nursing

Amman -- The Arab Nurses Union and Jordan Nurses Association announced on Sunday the activities to declare Amman as Arab Capital of Nursing for 2010.

Chairman of Jordan Nurses Association Khalid Abu Azezah held a joint press conference with Secretary General of the Arab Nurses Union Mohammed Hatamleh to announce details of the event, which aims to highlight Amman as the starting point for an Arab project to enhance nursing and uplift conditions of nurses across the Arab world.

Abu Azezah said Amman played a pivotal role in the nursing sector at the Arab level, calling on national institutions to support the activities that would be held throughout 2010.

Activities including a ceremony on this occasion, nursing magazine and a scientific research award would be launched, he said, adding a specialized website to help recruit nurses would also be inaugurated as part of the celebrations.
