Emaar to train students

JEDDAH: Emaar Economic City Company , which is the main developer of King Abdullah Economic City in Rabigh, on Friday signed an agreement with College of Business Administration to train 400 Saudi secondary school students.

The training program will be carried out in two phases, an official statement said, adding that secondary school students of Rabigh would be given preference. The course will take a total of 10 weeks. The training courses will focus on English language, computer skills, management and accountancy principles, finance, capacity development and communication skills.

Under the agreement which was signed by Fahd Al-Rasheed, CEO of Emaar Economic City and Abdullah Dahlan, chairman of the college, Emaar will share the cost of the training program with the college.

The company intends to train 5,000 students during the next three years as part of its social responsibility strategy, Al-Rasheed said, adding that the courses would enable students to get jobs and join universities easily.
