Abstract
Subscribers to Syria's two GSM operators, Syriatel and Areeba, initiated over 4.6 billion outgoing minutes in 2005, up from over 3 billion in 2004. Syriatel's share stood at 55% of the total outgoing minutes while Areeba's share stood at 45%.
