| Background |
Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC)Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) plans to construct the power package of the third phase of the power and desalination plant in Yanbu. The plant will have a capacity of 2,500 MW. The plant was initially expected to generate 1,700 MW of power but the capacity was increased to 2,500 MW. A 380 kV substation at Yanbu will connect the plant to the Saudi Electricity CompanySaudi Electricity Company grid. The main feedstock will consist of heavy fuel oil.
