| Background |
The consortium of ExxonMobilExxonMobil , ShellShell and Oil Exploration Company plans to develop the West Qurna oil field in Southern Iraq. The project aims at reaching a production capacity of 8.7 billion bpd of oil. The deal is one of a series to develop major oilfields to boost its capacity to 12 million bpd from around 2.5 million bpd currently. Fluor CorporationFluor Corporation is the EPCM. |
