In 2010, the DB contract was awarded to QDVC, a JV of Qatari Diar Investment Company and Vinci Construction Grands Projects and the construction of the light rail transit network started.
In December 2009, the ITB for the DB contract was issued. |

- 17.8 Km of double track at grade
- 8.2 Km of single track at grade
- 6.6 Km of underground double track
- 22 stations at grade
- 7 underground stations
- A viaduct
