Rakeen Development CompanyRakeen Development Company plans to build a waste water treatment plant in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.
The purpose of the project is to serve Al Marjan Island development.
The plant will have a capacity of 18,500 cu.m./d.
Al Marjan Island is a community development of 2.7 million sq.m. of reclaimed land. It will consist of 4 coral shaped islands and will include lagoons, hotels, marinas, residential and commercial buildings and 50 villas. |

As of March 2010, no progress was made on the project.
At the end of September 2009, the BOO contract was expected to be awarded however no decision was taken: RAKIARAKIA did not give any response to the owner. (the contract was previously expected in late July 2009).
31 May 2009 was the extended bids submission deadline for the BOO contract. 29 April 2009 was the initial bids submission deadline for the BOO contract but it was extended due to the bidders' request.
In March 2009, Rakeen issued the ITB for the BOO contract for the development of Al Marjan sewage treatment plant. |
