The project will cover an area of 1.5 million sq.m and will include villas, hotels, residential apartments, commercial centers, markets, car parks, schools, police stations and medical facilities.

The project is divided to 6 areas. Each area raging from 1,200 sq. m. to 3,100 sq. m.

The project is part of the Government's plan to develop and rehabilitate the region surrounding the holy sanctuary of Makkah to meet the needs of its visitors.

Once completed, the project will accomodate 250,000 residents.

Latest Events In February 2012, the project was still facing delays and no expected date to resume work.

In 2016, the project is expected to be completed.
Previous Events In 2009, the project was delayed due to changes in the master plan.

Scope of Work Infrastructure work includes leveling, piling, excavation works, water and irrigation networks and electricity.
