| Background |
LimitlessLimitless plans to construct the Arabian Canal, a 75 Km long water canal that will flow from Dubai Waterfront, passing east of Dubai World Central International Airport, then turning back towards Palm Jumeirah. This project is developed for the purpose of creating more development land in Dubai. A real estate development will be constructed on a new landmark along the canal (made from the excavated material). The project will be executed in 2 phases. Phase 1 includes the development of the canal and will consist of 9 to 10 main excavation works packages. The packages will be divided geographically. LimitlessLimitless will develop 4 packages, Nakheel will develop up to 3, and Dubai Industrial City (DIC) and the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will develop the remaining 2. LimitlessLimitless will be in charge of coordinating with the different developers and will be responsible for the final delivery of the canal. Phase 2 includes the launching of a USD 50 billion real estate development along the canal. It will cover a 200 million sq.m. area and accommodates 2.5 million residents. This 150 m. wide canal will accommodate boats up to 40 m long. Future phases might include extending the canal to connect to Dubai creek at Ras Al Khor area. Faithful and Gould is the PMC. |
