In April 2012, a USD 380 million contract was signed between Sadara and Linde Group. Linde will provide ammonia (NH3), carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrogen (H2) to Sadara. In Q2 2012, the EPC contracts for the Hydrogen, Carbon Monoxide and Ammonia Plants, PMD and TDI Production Facilities, tank farm and ethane cracker packages are expected to be awarded. In H1 2012, construction is expected to begin. In 2015, the project is expected to be completed. |

In March 2012, construction of the Aniline-Formalin and DNT-Nitric Facilities started and the engineering works of the Offsites and Utilities package started. In January 2012, engineering works for the main tank farm package started. In December 2011, the EPC contract for the main tank farm was awarded to Daewoo Engineering and ConstructionDaewoo Engineering and Construction . In November 2011, the EPC contract for the Aniline-Formalin and DNT-Nitric Facilities package was awarded to DaelimDaelim . In September 2011, the EPC and management contract for the Chlorine plant package was awarded to Jacobs EngineeringJacobs Engineering . In July 2011, the joint venture partners formed the Sadara Chemical CompanySadara Chemical Company and the EPC contract for the Mixed Feed Cracker package was awarded to DaelimDaelim Saudi Arabia. In Q2 2011, the FEED study was completed. On August 3 2010, AramcoAramco and DowDow announced their final decision to relocate the complex from Ras Tannura to Jubail Industrial City 2. In Q4 2008, the FEED study contract for the aromatics, ethylene, utilities and the hydrocarbon packages was awarded to Foster WheelerFoster Wheeler and the FEED contract for the chlorine plant was awarded to Jacobs EngineeringJacobs Engineering . In July 2007, the PMC contract was awarded to KBRKBR . KBRKBR would carry out project management services, including the preparation of tender documents, evaluation of technical proposals and supervision of the execution phase. Also the FEED would be jointly managed by Saudi AramcoAramco and Dow Chemical CompanyDow Chemical Company with KBRKBR responsible for its implementation. In May 2007, Saudi AramcoAramco and Dow Chemical CompanyDow Chemical Company signed the MoU for developing the refinery and petrochemicals complex. |

| Financing Source |
Royal Bank of ScotlandRoyal Bank of Scotland is the financial adviser. The project will be funded by 70% Debt, 30% Equity. The joint venture plans to float a 30% stake in an IPO and will make a decision on the size and timing of the IPO after completing early engineering. In Q3 2012, Sadara is expected to complete the financing with a financial close expected in Q1 2013. In Q2 2012, AramcoAramco and DowDow are expected to start negotiations with commercial banks regarding the financing deals. Nine export credit agencies (ECAs), including the local Pubilc Investment Fund, are in advanced stages of negotiations to supply direct loans or loan insurances. In September 2011, AramcoAramco and DowDow started approaching export credit agencies (ECAs) for financing the project. |
