The consortium of ENIENI , Occidental Petroleum, KOGASKOGAS and Missan Oil Company (led by ENIENI ) plans to expand the Zubair Oil Field in Basra, Southern Iraq. The project aims at increasing production from 182,000 bpd to 1.125 million bpd by 2016. |

In December 2011, the drilling contract was awarded to Baker HughesBaker Hughes . In October 2011, bids for the drilling contract were under evaluation. In May 2011, the Iraqi drilling Company started its drilling work on the project. In January 2011, a USD 250 million contract to drill 23 new wells was awarded to the Iraqi Drilling Company. The deal also includes the overhauling of 63 old wells. In August 2010, an energy services contract was awarded to Halliburton. The contract includes wire-line logging, perforating, acidising and well testing on 20 wells. In November 2009, a technical services contract to redevelop the Zubair field was signed between SOCSOC and the consortium of ENIENI , Occidental Petroleum CompanyOccidental Petroleum Company , KGOC and Missan Oil Company. |
