The infrastructure package of DMCDMC includes civil, mechanical, and electrical works to relocate the drydock's entrance and extend the drydocks. In 2010, the project was put on hold. In September 2007, the six lane causeway connecting DMCDMC to Dubai was fully completed. In early Q2 2007, reclamation, breakwaters, and ground improvement works were completed. In Q2 2006, the first infrastructure package contract that includes extending the Mina road onto the reclamation area, road works and services, and constructing retaining wall was awarded to Hedley International Emirates Contracting. In Q4 2005, the quay wall construction contract was awarded to the JV of Bel Hasa Six ConstructBel Hasa Six Construct and Van OordVan Oord . In Q2 2004, the breakwater and land reclamation construction contract was awarded to JV of Archirodon Construction Company and Ballast Ham Dredging. |
| Scope of Work |
Developing infrastructure facilities including three main categories: -Civil Works: dredging, land reclamation (31.2 million cu. m.), constructing a 3,600 m quay wall, developing concrete and steel rails for transfer pit and dry berths, landscaping, gravel infill and block paving, extending the breakwater by 500 m, relocating the drydock's entrance, and constructing highways and a 12.8 Km local road network (main roads are 3-lane dual carriageways and minor roads are either 2-lane or single-way carriageways). -Electrical Works: encompassing HV & LV wiring, street lighting, and telecommunication. -Mechanical Works: water supply network, irrigation, sewerage, fire fighting devices, and district cooling (35 inspection chambers and 67 branch chambers). |
