| Background |
MubadalaMubadala plans to develop phase 1 of Sowwah Island, a mixed development located between Reem Island and Mina area, Abu Dhabi.
Phase 1 will spread over an area of 1.1. million sq.m. and will include 5 major components: Sowwah Square, Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, Rosewood Abu Dhabi, Four Seasons Hotel, Viceroy Abu Dhabi and Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.
The Cleveland Clinic will include a hospital with a 360 beds. The Sowwah Square will consist of 450,000 sq.m. area for the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange Headquarter, 4 office towers, 2 hotels : "Rosewood Abu Dhabi" and "Four Seasons Hotel ", conference facilities, and retail and dining spaces.
The project involves the construction of 13 bridges that will link Sowwah Island to its neighboring areas.
The Sowwah Island is part of the Abu Dhabi's plan 2030.
Martha Schwartz is the landscaping consultant, Goettsch Partners is the design consultant for Sowwah Square, and Aedas is the design consultant for the Cleveland Clinic. |
