Bahrain Bay DevelopmentBahrain Bay Development plans to build phase 2 of Bahrain Bay, a community development located at the northeastern shore of Manama, Bahrain. Phase 2 includes the construction of anchor developments: Four Seasons Hotel, a 68,000 sq.m. area of 201 m. tall tower with 50 storeys, 263 rooms, and will include a 5 star spa and leisure facilities, a"Sky Pod" restaurant,a hi-tech business centre, a multi-use ballroom, a banqueting hall , and 4 dining outlets; and Arcapita headquarter, a 48,017 sq.m. office tower; a 20,450 sq.m. area of basement Parking Garage with 525 capacity car units; and a 2 level structure mosque with prayer spaces, rooms, open courtyard facing Mecca, and a 50m tall minaret adjacent to the Mosque. Skidmore Owings and Merrill (SOM) is the architect, Sime Malak and Alssamoure Design are the architect consultants for Arcapita headquarter, Artifex is the landscape design consultant for Four Seasons Hotel, AtkinsAtkins is the design and engineer consultant, and Turner International is the PMC. |

In Q1 2011, the piling works of Four Seasons Hotel was completed. In September 2010, the Arcapita headquarter was completed. In January 2008, the USD 22 million infrastructure contract was awarded to Ahmed Mansoor Al A'ali CompanyAhmed Mansoor Al A'ali Company and work started. In 2008, the piling contract for the Four Seasons Hotel was awarded to Dutch Foundation Company. In December 2007, Salhia Real Estate Company (SREC) signed the land purchase agreement to develop a USD 125 million commercial and retail tower in the same district as Arcapita headquarters and Raffles City. In March 2007, Arcapita signed the LOI with Ajmera Group and Myfair Housing to develop a USD 150 million housing project in Bahrain Bay; and the USD160 million construction contract for the Arcapita headquarters was awarded to JV of Nass Contracting CompanyNass Contracting Company and Murray & Roberts Contractors Middle East. In 2007, the dredging and reclamation work was completed and construction started.
