Background The Power and Water Utility Company for Jubail and YanbuPower and Water Utility Company for Jubail and YanbuLoading... (MARAFIQMARAFIQLoading...) plans to construct the second phase of Yanbu power and desalination project in yanbu industrial city, Medina, Saudi Arabia.

The project was launched after the planned Yanbu IWPP project was canceled due to financing problems.

The primary fuel will consist of heavy fuel oil. The back up fuel will consist of arabian light crude (ALC)

The desalination plant will use either the multi-effect desalination (MED) or multi-stage flash (MSF) technology.
