| Background |
Oman Ministry of Oil and GasOman Ministry of Oil and Gas plans to develop the Khazzan and Makarem Fields, Oman. The project will include the exploration and production of tight gas from both gas fields. The production from both fields is targeted to start at 300 million cu.ft./d which will increase in stages to 2 billion cu.ft/d. The fields are expected to have estimated reserves of 100-120 trillion cu.ft of gas from previous estimation of 30-40 trillion cu.ft of gas. All wells will be connected to the nearby Saih Rawl gas plant. The field's reservoirs are located at a depth of 5,000 meters. The two fields contain a mix of sour and sweet gas, which are trapped in four tight reservoirs - Barik, Miqrat, Amri and Buah. WorleyParsonsWorleyParsons is the select stage engineering consultant. |
