| Background |
Zakum Development CompanyZakum Development Company (ZadcoZadco ) plans to develop the offshore Upper Zakum oilfield in Abu Dhabi. The project will be executed in three phases; the first phase consists of the offshore pipelines and early production facilities (EPF), the second phase consists of permanent production facilities and the third phase includes associated facilities. The development aims at increasing production capacity from 550,000 to 750,000 bpd by 200,000 bpd and improving oil recovery at the field. ZadcoZadco is the feasibility study consultant. TechnipTechnip is the FEED study consultant. AMECAMEC is the PMC. |

In August 2011, the FEED study for the gas processing units package was completed. On 12 November 2009, the EPC contract for the dredging package was awarded to National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC). In September 2009, the EPC contract for the main oil line package was awarded to National Petroleum Construction CompanyNational Petroleum Construction Company (NPCCNPCC ). In Q2 2009, the project's scope of work was being revised for the purpose of cutting costs. Some packages were canceled and artificial islands would be constructed instead of the steel platforms and used as drilling and production sites. In 2008, the FEED study contract was awarded to TechnipTechnip . In September 2008, the PMC contract was awarded to AMECAMEC . In August 2007, bids for the PMC contract were submitted. In December 2006, the EOI for the PMC contract were submitted. In July 2006, ZADCOZADCO started work on the feasibility study, including detailed full-field reservoir and development evaluation of the field. |
