| Background |
The Abu Dhabi Future Energy CompanyAbu Dhabi Future Energy Company (ADFEC), also known as Masdar, plans to develop phase 1 of the Carbon Free City, an energy, science and technology green community in Abu Dhabi, between Khalifa City and Abu Dhabi International Airport.
Phase 1 of the project includes the construction of Masdar Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) and Masdar's headquarters. Phase 1 will occupy a 130,000 sq. m. area, which represents around 6% of the Masdar Carbon Free City.
