| Background |
Abu Dhabi Gas IndustriesAbu Dhabi Gas Industries (GascoGasco ) plans to build a fifth gas processing plant at Habshan, Abu Dhabi. The plant is part of Abu Dhabi's Integrated Gas Development (IGD) project which aims to increase the offshore gas production by 1 billion cu.ft/d (high pressure gas). The gas received will be produced from offshore Umm Shaif field and Khuff reserviors. KBRKBR Leatherhead is the PMC overseeing the FEED study for the whole onshore part of the IGD program. FluorFluor is the FEED study consultant. WorleyParsonsWorleyParsons is the PMC overseeing the EPC contract. |

In August 2010, the supply enabling technologies sub-contract was awarded to Pall Corporation. In May 2010, the USD 300 million construction sub-contract was awarded to Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC)Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC) . Construction of the plant started. In January 2010, the USD 700 million sub-contract to perform civil, mechanical and electrical work at the plant was awarded to Kharafi National companyKharafi National company . On 29 October 2009, the EPC contract was officially signed between GascoGasco and the JV of JGC and Tecnimont. On 15 July 2009, the EPC contract was awarded to the JV of JGC Corporation and Tecnimont. Tecnimont will work on the main plant while JGC will develop the associated facilities. On 9 July 2009, bids were opened. On 7 July 2009, commercial bids for the EPC contract were submitted. On 22 June 2009, the PMC contract overseeing the EPC was awarded to WorleyParsonsWorleyParsons . On 30 April 2009, technical bids for the EPC contract were submitted (extended from 1 March 2009). In November 2008, technical bids for the PMC contract overseeing the EPC contract were submitted. In July 2008, the FEED study was completed and the ITB for the EPC contract was issued. In June 2008, companies were pre-qualified for the EPC contract. In March 2008, requests for proposal for the EPC contract were submitted (delayed from 29 February 2008). In May 2007, KBRKBR Leatherhead was awarded the PMC overseeing the FEED study for the whole onshore part of the IGD program. In December 2006, the ITB for the PMC contract overseeing FEED study was issued. In July 2006, the FEED study contract was awarded to FluorFluor . |
