Background Emaar PropertiesEmaar PropertiesLoading... plans to build a tram system to organize the traffic flow and road services in Burj Dubai area. The network will serve and ease congestion surrounding Burj Dubai tower, the Old Town, the Business Park and its surrounding residential and commercial areas.

This project is divided to two phases. Phase 1 includes a 1.1 km twin track service line between Burj Place interchange station and the Dubai Mall. Phase 2 includes a 4.6 km full loop, single track, mono directional, commuter that will operate from and to Burj Place interchange station. This track will service ten stations that network the 500 acre Burj Dubai development.

Systra is the design consultant.
