The project is to supply offshore platforms and pipelines for the Additional Maintain Potential Facilities project, which is part of Saudi AramcoSaudi Aramco’s efforts to maintain oil production levels at the offshore Zuluf and Safaniyah oilfields.
Current Status
In 2009, the project was completed (delayed from Q2 2008).
Previous Events
In December 2007, commissioning of the project started.
In December 2005, bidders submitted their technical and commercial bids for the EPC contract.
Scope of Work
First contract involves construction and installation of five topsides, weighing over 2,870MT, interconnecting bridge, two wellhead jackets, a tie-in jacket weighing over 4,300MT, and a subsea template to support pipeline installation in the Safaniya and Zuluf fields.
Also includes installation of three 16" pipelines totalling over 17km in length, in the Zuluf and Safaniya fields, one 4km 20" pipeline and two 16" lines totaling 1.6km in the Safaniya field.
Second contract includes installation of 30" gas trunkline approximately 20km long from Abu Ali Island to Khursaniyah. Construction activities began at J. Ray's Jebel Ali yard mid summer 2006.
