Abu Dhabi Polymers CompanyAbu Dhabi Polymers Company (BorougeBorouge ) plans to construct a Cross-Linked Polyethylene (XLPE) Conversion Unit at the BorougeBorouge 3 Complex, in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi. The output of the project is dedicated to the Middle East and Asian Market. The plants will use the second generation Borstar technology. TecnimontTecnimont is the FEED consultant. BechtelBechtel is the PMC. |

| Previous Events |
In February 2011, engineering works started. In the end of January 2011, the USD 169 million EPC contract was awarded to Hyundai Engineering and Construction Company. On 17 January 2011, bidders submitted their commercial proposals for the EPC contract (delayed twice from 25 November 2010 and 23 December 2010). Hyundai Engineering and Construction was named as frontrunner for the EPC contract. On 14 November 2010, technical bids for the EPC contract were submitted (delayed for the second time from 30 August 2010). On 17 June 2010, the ITB for the EPC contract was issued. In April 2010, firms were prequalified to bid for the EPC contract. In Q1 2010, the FEED study was completed. On 6 July 2009, the FEED contract was awarded to TecnimontTecnimont . In June 2009, the PMC contract was awarded to BechtelBechtel . 24 April 2009 was the extended bid submission deadline for the PMC contract. (delayed from 26 Jan 2009) In April 2009, the RFP for the FEED contract was issued. In January 2009, the ITB for the PMC contract was issued. |

In January 2011, Borealis signed a USD 266 million loan with, Oesterrichische Kontrollbank, an export credit agency (ECA). The loan will be split between an 18 month tranche and an 8-year tranche. |
