In 2011, the Malaysian Oil Company dropped out of the project. Its shares are expected to be distributed among the remaining shareholders. In H1 2011, Aksens apologized for conducting studies. In Q1 2011, the feasibility and pre-Feed studies were awarded to Aksens. In November 2010, an updated MOU was signed between Syrian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and Venezuelan Ministry of Energy toward implementing the project. In 2009, Namvaran was awarded the feasibility study contract. In March 2008, a partnership agreement to construct and finance the refinery was signed between Syria, Venzuela, Iran and Bukhari Group. In October 2007, an MOU was signed between Syrian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral ResourcesSyrian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and an international consortium to construct a refinery in Farkalas. |
