| Background |
Saudi Aramco Shell Refinery Company (Sasref )Saudi Aramco Shell Refinery Company (Sasref ) plans to increase the capacity of its existing refinery in Jubail Industrial City, Saudi Arabia. The project includes adding a new liquid petroleum gas (LPG) unit, a sulphur recovery unit and diesel hydrotreater units. Upon completion, SASREF's capacity of ultra low sulfur diesel (ULSD) will be 11,600 t/d. Sasref was planning to include a new aromatics complex as part of the scheme, however, this option was dropped later. Shell Global Solutions is the project management support consultant. |

| Previous Events |
In January 2010, commissioning started. In Q4 2007, ABB Lummus GlobalABB Lummus Global started execution of the EPC contract for the ultra-low sulphur diesel complex. In Q3 2007, the FEED study was completed. In November 2006, US based ABB Lummus GlobalABB Lummus Global was awarded the FEED and EPCM contract, which had an option to carry out the main EPC contract to design and build an ultra-low sulphur diesel complex. |
