BankMuscat provides accelerated growth for employees - Oman Daily Observer

MUSCAT -- The Consumer Banking and Human Resources Department of BankMuscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate , recently launched an assessment and development centre for the selection of potential branch managers.

The first assessment test was held in Muscat Hall for 82 candidates and L&D Centre, Salalah for 10 candidates. The candidates were short listed based on a set criterion. The selected candidates will undergo an assessment for competencies such as inspirational leadership, customer orientation, learning orientation, knowledge of bank's products and services, knowledge of bank's operations and processes and presentation skills.

The top performers will undergo further assessments and participate in a well-structured accelerated development programme. The central idea behind this initiative is to provide a transparent and level selection process for potential Branch Managers. This process will also enable all candidates to become aware of their competency gaps and adopt measures to develop themselves.

"Assessment tests provide our employees with an opportunity to display their knowledge, skills, understanding and attitudes that they have developed over the years and we motivate them by recognising what they have accomplished. By determining how an employee will work, we are better able to assess the needs to be considered at the start of training programme. An essential part of preparation for teaching and learning is the importance that creativity, initiative and risk taking crucial selection parameters," says Salim al Kaabi, AGM - Human Resources, BankMuscat.
