The company, which is owned by specialist emerging markets private equity investor TVM Capital Healthcare Partners and a syndicate of co-investors, already operates in UAE and Egypt, and is looking to expand across the Middle East and North Africa region.

In the last month, Manzil has accepted first clients in Qatar, who receive either intermittent or around-the-clock service from highly qualified and licensed nurses. Patients referred to Manzil Home Health Services by their physicians are provided a range of services including senior care, post-operative care, diabetes management, wound care, as well as post hospital discharge care.

"Our team of health professionals includes highly qualified registered nurses licensed by the MOPH and QCHP said Jad Halaby, International Managing Director of Manzil Health Care Services. "We started operations  a few weeks ago and are growing rapidly due to high demand as the authorities' aim is to develop the home healthcare services", he added.

High quality home care service helps a patient recover in the comfort of the how and within the family, avoids hospital infections and frees up hospital beds that are needed for acute care patients.

Hoda Abou-Jamra, Founding Partner of TVM Capital Healthcare Partners and Board Member of Manzil Home Health Services, commented: "After successfully growing the Manzil Home Health Services business in the UAE and launching Egypt's first stand-alone home healthcare provider earlier this year, we are pleased to launch operations in Qatar. One in five adults in Qatar currently lives with diabetes, and the country is seeing an increasing prevalence of other lifestyle-related chronic diseases. This creates growing demand for high-quality home care providers, and an opportunity for TVM Capital Healthcare Partners to replicate the Manzil Home Health Services business model, while adopting to local requirements in Qatar. "

To deliver the highest quality care, Manzil Home Health Services partners with best-in-class international experts and institutions. These include Boston-based Spaulding Rehabilitation Network, which is a Harvard Medical School Teaching Hospital and recognized global leader in rehabilitative medicine, and the Joslin Diabetes Center, the world's leading diabetes research and clinical care organization. Joslin is one of the most research-intensive of the institutions affiliated to the Harvard Medical School and is unique in its sole focus on diabetes.

Dr Helmut Schuehsler, who serves as the Chairman of the Board at Manzil Health Care Services and CEO of TVM Capital Healthcare Partners added: "Governments in the GCC are encouraging private investment in healthcare, because they welcome new specialist, high quality services. Manzil is an excellent example of a company that is filling a significant gap in healthcare provision, so it's important that the company continues to expand and make a positive impact across the region."

Manzil was the first dedicated homecare provider in the UAE to receive accreditation from Joint Commission International, the world's largest and most recognised healthcare accreditor.

Dr Schuehsler added: "The Manzil Home Health Services business model has been extremely successful in the UAE, and complements the existing healthcare infrastructure in the country. Because of this, we have brought the JCI accreditation processes and quality protocols to our operations in Qatar, where we believe Manzil will be as successful as it has been in the UAE. Post-acute and rehabilitative home care capacities on best international levels will help patients to get better faster and in the comfort of their own homes - and hospitals will be able to use much needed capacity for their acute care patients."
