The 2nd Annual Rotating Equipment Reliability and Maintenance Forum, a three-day event, looking into technological advancements and optimization strategies kicked off yesterday at Sofitel Al Khobar, The Corniche in Al Khobar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The event opened with a keynote from conference Chairman Ricky Smith on the essential elements of reliability leadership for managing assets. Smith is the Author of numerous reliability bibles including "Lean Maintenance" and "Maintenance & Reliability Metrics / KPI's 101".
The forum yesterday drew focus on broader aspects of rotating equipment including optimal maintenance strategies, reliability engineering methodologies and essential management of rotating equipment failures and challenges.
Highlighting the importance of optimisation were Sultan Al Khuraissi of Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu speaking on the application of total productive maintenance within facility management and Josef Kucera from Petro Rabigh spoke about machinery based restoration model.
Speakers Samuel Thomas (Maaden Phosphate Company) and Sanjay Singh (SABIC - Petrokemya) addressed on the reliability of rotating equipment and effective equipment strategy development respectively. Whilst Associate Sponsor Velosi Asset Integrity Limited presented a case study on RAM & RCM Assesment for an oil refining unit, silver sponsors AESSEAL spoke on Centrifugal Pump Reliabilty improvements through mechanical seal awareness.
The event today is schedule to feature key industry experts from Saudi Aramco, Maaden Aluminium, SADARA, Saudi Aramco Shell Refinery and Aramco Gulf Operations Company. Key focus will be on Rotating Equipment components and benchmarking as an essential tool for assessment in rotating equipments.
