Dubai/Mumbai, February 16, 2014: L&T's hydrocarbon business has progressively commissioned the US $ 400 M plus Umm Lulu Phase-I & Nasr Phase-I Field Development Projects of Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA-OPCO). The Umm Lulu field reported First Oil since October 2014 and the Nasr field achieved production on 24th January, 2015.

L&T undertook the full EPCIC scope of 4 Well Head towers (2 each in Umm Lulu and Nasr) with another bridge-linked Manifold tower  in Nasr  field, 102 KMs of sub-sea Pipelines, Fiber-optic communication cable and associated brown-field modifications on  inter-connected platforms. For production from Umm Lulu, extensive modifications were made by L&T to ZADCO's Umm Al Dalkh ("UAD")Central Processing Platform. Production from the Nasr field necessitated modifications to the Umm Shaif platform and laying a new 20 Inch multiphase subsea export pipeline to TOTAL's Abu Al Bukoosh facilities.

Once fully developed the subject two projects will progressively contribute additional 105,000 barrels per day from the Umm Lulu field and 65,000 barrels per day from Nasr field.

With over 13 million safe man-hours without Lost Time Incidents ("LTI"), this project has demonstrated L&T's commitment to Health Safety and Environment, continuously striving to achieve its corporate weds of "zero incident zero impact".

This project merits many firsts that include use of smart Wellhead Platforms in UAE, 2 KW solar power capacity on each Platform, 2500-class Multi Selector Manifolds in Inconel material weighing over 8.5 tons each, etc.

Consistent with its spirit of customer service, L&T spared no effort to satisfy requirement, of  customer groups - comprising 3 operators (ADMA-OPCO, ZADCO and TOTAL), 4 shareholders (ADNOC, BP, TOTAL and JODCO), consultants (AMEC), independent verification body (DNV), and Third Party Inspection Agency (GL-Noble Denton).

The Project was executed from multiple centers working concurrently. Engineering & procurement for both projects was carried out at L&T-Valdel engineering center in Bangalore. Fabrication of the 4 wellhead towers, and other structures comprised over 16,000 MT including the critical piping of Solid & clad Inconel materials.  The entire manufacture, including integration with sophisticated equipment & systems, complete with onshore commissioning, was from L&T's Modular Fabrication Yard in Sohar, Oman. With less than 0.5% weld repair rates, this project provides eloquent testimony to L&T's impeccable quality performance.

Successful completion of these projects is the first of many projects undertaken by L&T for  ADNOC and other clients'  projects across GCC. They mark the coming of age of L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering, the 100% oil & gas projects subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro Limited which is a US$14.3 billion technology, engineering, construction and manufacturing and financial services conglomerate.
