The Dubai Mall is getting in on the emirate's shopping-friendly Eid Al Adha celebrations by adopting 24-hour opening for three consecutive weekends.
The world's largest shopping mall said on Thursday that it will operate the extended opening hours each weekend from October 18 to November 4 as part of celebrations organised by the Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment (DEPE).
In a statement, the mall's operator Emaar said the initiative will mark the first time that all aspects of the mall - including its 1,200 retail outlets and its leisure attractions will operate through the night. Stores will be open to 1am on weeknights during the period of the celebrations too.
Nasser Rafi, chief executive officer of Emaar Malls Group, said the move would "significantly energise Dubai's retail, tourism, hospitality and leisure sectors".
During the Eid in Dubai celebrations, The Dubai Mall will be operating for 24 hours on October 18 and 19, 25 and 26, and November 1 and 2. On weekdays the mall will be open from 10am to 1am for retail outlets, and until 3am for food courts and restaurants.
All leisure and entertainment attractions within The Dubai Mall will also be open during the 24-hour weekends including Dubai Aquarium, KidZania, SEGA Republic, and Reel Cinemas.
