BEIRUT, 27th May, 2017 (WAM)--The Humanitarian and Development Affairs Attache at the UAE Embassy in Lebanon, has signed with Zakat Fund of Lebanon's Dar Al Fatwa and Fransbank, two cooperation agreements on sponsoring the orphans in Lebanon.

The two agreements were signed by Adviser Musallam Al Mansouri, Director of Attache office at the Embassy, and Mohammed Ali Dahir, General Manager of Fransbank. Meanwhile, Sheikh Zuhair Kabi, signed on behalf of the Zakat Fund.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Sheikh Abdul Latif Deryan, Mufti of the Republic of Lebanon, Hamad Saeed Sultan Al Shamsi, Ambassador of the UAE to Lebanon, and a number of dignitaries.

Mufti Deryan said the signing of agreements, which coincided with the onset of the holy month of Ramadan, aim to launch the orphan sponsorship programme. He noted that the UAE sponsors a number of orphans, thanking the UAE leadership and people for their continuous assistance to the people of Lebanon.

Ambassador Al Shamsi said the aim of signing the two agreement "is to coordinate the orphan project sponsored by the UAE," adding that the programme will be under Dar Al Iftaa and Lebanon's Zakat Fund.
