H.H Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) presided the board meeting held recently at its headquarters in Mina Seyahi.

The meeting was attended by Saeed Harib, Board Chairman of DIMC and General Secretary of Dubai Sports Council, Dr. Khalid Mohamed AlZahed, Vice Chairman DIMC and board members Essa Bin Kharbash, Arif Al Zaffin, Khalid Bin Dasmal and Ali Bin Hindi.

During the meeting Sheikh Mansoor reviewed the completed and ongoing projects of DIMC in 2015 in addition to the proposals for the future projects.

Dr. Khalid AlZahed explained the design and construction of Dry Boats Store, the first of its kind in the UAE and the region that can accommodate about 150 boats at total cost of AED 38,450.00 The project will be implemented by Khansaheb Civil Engineering Co. and expected to finish the work in September 2015.

He also shed light on the design and construction of the Yatch Harbour under the Club across the length of 325 meters, at total cost of 14.5 million dirhams. This project was completed in February 2015.

Sheikh Mansoor praised the leadership of DIMC for the recently received ISO certificates namely : ISO 9001:2008 certification for Quality Management, ISO 14001:2004 for Environment Management and ISO 18001:2007 for Occupational Health and Safety Management from SGS, world's leading inspection, verification, testing and Certification Company recognized as the global benchmark for quality and integrity.

He said that recognitions put more responsibility on our shoulders to rise according to the expectations of our society and the entire world as Dubai is considered a global business and tourist hub, especially in the context of upcoming EXPO2020.

Saeed Harib praised H.H Sheikh Mansoor for his wise leadership and longsighted directives, which in turn played the major role behind all achievements accomplished by DIMC.

Dr. Khalid said that the certifications are given to DIMC for providing the best quality management system as well as a safe and secured environment for water sport activities in tune with the requirements and expectations of water sport athletes and lovers in addition to its overall achievements in organisation of local and international events promoting the reputation of the UAE on global water sports map.

"We consider these recognitions as a new feather on DIMC's cap of achievements since its inception in 1988 for being an excellent beacon in the marine sports world," he said. 

"It is also an appreciation for the painstaking efforts of DIMC which organizes several international sports events and exhibitions at its venue in tune with international standards," he added.
