BEIRUT, May 24 (Reuters) - Lebanon's government has reappointed central bank governor Riad Salameh for another six-year term, Lebanese media outlets reported on Wednesday.

Finance Minister Ali Hassan Khalil had asked cabinet to extend Salameh's term, which had been due to expire at the start of August, a government source said.

Salameh has steered the central bank for almost 24 years and is widely seen as a guarantor of monetary stability.
