Tickets for La Perle by Franco Dragone, a permanent aquatic theatre show opening in Al Habtoor City on August 31, will go on sale on May 29.

130 artists, acrobats, aerialists, contortionists and technical team members from 23 countries will perform. The show will take place on a dry stage that can be flooded with 2.7 million litres of water in 90 seconds; in less than a minute, that water can disappear. The story is inspired by Dubai and infused with flavours of the Arab world.

“We can say with all certainty that each person who comes to La Perle will be witnessing a live entertainment performance like they have never seen before,” said Craig Hartenstine, executive producer of La Perle, in a press release.

La Perle will take place twice a night and five days a week. The shows will happen at 7pm and 9.30pm on Tuesdays through Fridays, and 4pm and 7pm on Saturdays.

The theatre fits 1,300 people across 14 rows of seats, wrapping 270 degrees around the stage. Ticket prices begin at Dh400 online.

Dragone is a former Cirque du Soleil mastermind and the head of cultural creation company Dragone.

The show, which will take place year-round, was originally to open by December of 2016, but construction hiccups and rigorous security tests pushed the launch back.
