DUBAI, 19th February, 2017 (WAM) -- The University of Wollongong in Dubai, UOWD, has announced plans to transform its campus facilities with a 200,000 sq. ft. expansion in a new dedicated building close to its current campus. The announcement came with a groundbreaking ceremony presided over by senior executives from the university and TECOM Group.

Located in Dubai Knowledge Park, the new development will feature state-of-the-art facilities housed in a modern architectural design. The expansion represents a substantial investment by UOWD, consolidating its position as one of the UAEs leading universities, providing a premier, international student experience.

Celebrating the groundbreaking were Gerard Seeber, Australian Consul-General in Dubai and Senior Trade Commissioner, MENA, Dr. Amina Al Rustamani, Group CEO of TECOM Group, Marisa Mastroianni, Group CEO of UOW Enterprises, Malek Al Malek, CEO of TECOM Business Parks, Mohammad Abdullah, Managing Director of DIAC and DKP and Professor Mohamed Salem, President of UOWD, amongst others.

The university has grown tremendously since it was established nearly 24 years ago and has become an integral part of the citys academic landscape offering 35 high quality degree programmes, including the newly launched Executive MBA.
